As every democratic society governs itself by participation of it’s citizens’ affairs in how it is ought to be run as a whole and in the big picture, that leads into shaping into what a society will become mostly, as one factor among many, that is, according to views made relevant in it’s public discourse that influence into which direction such a society is led into, in these years the Democratic Party has received much criticism that over time shaped it into what it had been turning into, that is, honestly, how much less legitimate it’s standing is on public perception not only within US borders but also abroad.
Something greater can be done than just the now ordinary political fight on social media with PRs, tweets and posts that the other side may be and is of course equally doing, even better.
Conceptually, credibility is a social construct whereby legitimacy of a collective group is relatively compared with others with a different nature or characteristics. And in these years the concept of the word Democrat as a political party has, let’s be honest, quite lost respect of the public’s perception.
The Democratic Party has woken up eventually seeing that Republicans in more-or-less the previous decade had cleverly and meticulously done plots to grab power, sowing societal division in the process. The Democrat Party reaction to this was to rush in contending to grab power as a political rival and though they had not started it at degrees that the GOP (Republican Party) does, but that has eventually sowed even more division among the American public in the process. Introduction of social media had worsened such an already bad political situation. It had been a vicious cycle where the Dems had been caught up.

Introduction of social media had worsened such an already bad political situation. It had been a vicious cycle where the Dems had been caught up.
There is no collective cognition to resist something that a society isn’t aware about it, and one determining factor of which is being on mainstream and being widespread or well-known or is a commonplace knowledge in on public discourse. This pattern or dynamics is seen during US 2016 elections and years before that in which the Russians had exclusive operation on social media as regards spreading disinformation while the CIA who’se job is to be aware of and have intelligence about such homeland security matters and confronted with such fact for the first time—not even dealt with during US-USSR Cold War as social media hadn’t yet been invented that time—had on the start been reluctant to give counter public contrary opposition information against such Russian activities exploiting freedom of and openness to information of a democratic society. This quite means that the CIA had not taken the responsibility to defend democracy being under attack (in fact ([information] assault) during Obama’s time—especially with Putin’s authoritarian despise against democratic US politicians—where aspects it needs defending, like Putin’s FSB (equivalent of US’s Intelligence Department) hyping up global volume of conspiracy theories online that instilled poisonous amount of anti-American sentiments around the world.
These forces and entities abuse democracy which is another form of abuse of freedoms from democracy compared to civilians who utter in vile, displeasing language not in moderation just to be in support of and/or against something or someone, thus, not in accordance with rule of law and similarly end up in anarchy or a civilian society that more-or-less is towards lack of rule of law. Likewise the former is essentially, utterly against rule of law in the first place towards ends of similarly utter lack of rule of law as one of exactly sought after results—i.e. including polarization and extremism due to influences of conspiracy theories.
Also, just consider Alex Jones’ infamous, anti-American doings of abusing democracy and that had been tolerated by law-enforcement for many decades. Just like in the Russian collusion scenario where nothing counter-information to it that is of equal force in scale and effort when such could have been possibly done, had caused a lot of trouble for democracy, as with personal safety of those whom he defames, that is, in his InfoWars show where he mainly does his conspiracy theory entrepreneurship and which had grown number of patrons and sympathizers when the internet had become common in household and personal utilities.
IN THE COMFORTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA CONNECTION
Politicians are more-or-less content with connecting to a public mainly with tweeting or posting on social media, being a variant of experience to regular people's experience of dopamine rush upon seeing to it or being aware of how much volume one’s post, tweet or content has reached or attained participation in comments and reactions—in the case of public figures themselves in being a politician are assured significant reach or participation—feel some sedative glory and think to oneself that that’s quite enough most of the time.
But is that enough when Democrats are in an everytime when they’re clearly so much loosing it, thus current years are very critical for the Democratic Party—and the public’s, too, is too skewed and fed up with the lure and distraction of social media. The Republicans in what they have shown they’re capable of doing in their years of clever politicizing especially previous to point at which realization how meticulous their masterplan had been at chipping away political power from Democrats does not indicate times being critical as a fact and do as ordinary people does considering the resources at their disposal?
And the answer to that would for Democrats to connect more with the people and communities more than to what extent tweeting and posting on social media can do on social-interpersonal connectivity. Their anarchic adversary commentators like Alex Jones had been doing such grab of patronage by leveraging type of social connections online activities can do, as with their actual political rivals in public figure stature doing the same content or substance for public in online spheres to chatter about. Democrats doing the same would make no difference with influence-cancelling information from the other side to begin with, add to that misinformation-assault by conspiracy theories entrepreneurs, both local and abroad, as with plots of democracies’ communist and authoritarian adversary states.
DEALING WITH THE NORMS
With battling on social media, those reached will likely only be those already interested in politics news and content but not those whose interests on social media are already primarily on other things or fields or virtual realms or specific online community/s or part of the internet. But will they be inclined to get onboard Democrat support when a big part of the Party’s reputation has already been messed up or defamed in their views especially where it isn’t that much of portion of their personal interests and they already heard a little misinformation that smears Dems who they’re in fact too oblivious to on Party's broader implications and deeper background? Yep, people online judging without legitimate claims those who they don’t know personality and story of as a person wouldn’t do the same behavior or style in dealing with realm of politics—especially with half-told and half-heard stories about or narratives against Democrats that are widespread?
Moreover, relying only on social media is especially an uncertainty of whether virtual weather at each time has no other suddenly uprising major distraction around to come up online. Especially regular people (who’re biggest in number than public figures) having no more lot of those abundantly omnipresent people quite popular online but nearer to having regular life as themselves aren’t inclined distraction from a lot of those?—as this is the most existent kind of online behavior for regular people; who else are the biggest number of any public figure’s supporter or fan than ordinary people?
Truth is, people in general have not much control on direction how flow of one’s scrolling or browsing—or doodling—online would lead to each time. So aside from a news being hidden or competing with other attention-grabbing channel, it may be buried away as a user’s browsing may branch away into following deeper the background of those seen interesting in the comments or online community (that is, for those who has this habit), and, more usually, virtually entering just in a group or online community’s walls where constantly many does share their short takes, little commentaries, fun thoughts on things; others making social media like a personal diary. Considering that shorter content to read are always click for online users but they’re omnipresent-ly too many that it presence of such does take up great amount of people’s time online.
Moreover, to some degree they’re already exposed to some politics of the other side on social media regardless. Thus, can we wait until newbies become sophisticated enough to come interested at last to hop onboard into realms of politics to significantly add support to the Party? To begin with, many of them had already been oriented with false views, aside from arrogant ones who don’t care at all about what things affect people surrounding them because they’re socio-economically invulnerable.
TRANSCENDING THE SUBCONSCIOUS SOCIAL MEDIA LIMITATIONS
As can be seen with Alex Jones’ diabolical games being with more connection as it has involves face-value provided by videoing as medium to execute the aims of his stunts than only the connection most faceless brands can transmit to it’s audience: the leverage of that over influencing many people is immense. But that is mostly when such pursuit is done constantly—or persistently—over a long period of time, especially in years (decades in Alex Jones’ case), that is, a cumulative process of organic growth.
But even that has it’s limitations. In Alex Jones’ conspiracy theory entrepreneurship case alone in attacking and abusing democracy, it took decades to gain patronage and the recent years to gain significant traction. Even that wouldn’t be enough remedy for urgency of Democratic political struggles that is very critical in these present years, especially with the introduction of social media that takes away from online spectators (i.e., all us law-abiding and sound-minded citizens) values of reflecting on what’s happening that are news-worthy or notably interesting or worthy of attention, as with those that are cynical shit doings—or outright parodies—seeking our attention remarkably being outlier liability to our precious, personal time.
Something greater can be done than just the now ordinary political fight on social media with PRs, tweets and posts that the other side may be and is of course equally doing, even better. How often do you see Dems have a dialogue with different communities “in person” than just addressing varying societies and groups via social media? Democrats is the Party who’s nature has to do with inclusivity and diversity than conservative norms of GOP politicians who when the ones to do such political strategy would be unnatural as they favor exclusivity. I wanna see Dems leverage that pursuit of closer social connections with different communities on the grounds and grassroots.
And so, to Dems, do see it that these critical personal visitations to “practically” establish dialogue with grassroots communities and groups are being done and not just mainly online. These people need such significant source of assurance testament with such civic-political actuations deeds that reflect establishing a perception of real commitment over time. And do these activities as a way of consultation as well.
That will help give advantage to Democrats which the Party greatly needs at present, more precisely, the people and the Party needs each other as Republicans strips away from individuals and civilian population more and more basic human rights like healthcare, and the like, as if to downgrade humanity society into sliding back down to just being like the squalid, less humanitarian civilian conditions during medieval times when idleness of individual welfare was the reality. Thus, democratic values are needed in a mutual relationship of democratic politicians and civilians. The Republican cause is not the identity of America and in fact had replaced the former Arab cause of anti-American sentiments why January 6th happened next in line to Arab-led September 11, 2001 World Trade Center attacks.
ADDRESSING LAW-AND-ORDER
GDP of the Philippines has quite prospered in these years with accompanying drop in unemployment rate, and where the impact can most notably be seen, mainly in both ordinary residential communities and squatters areas in contrast to commercial districts [CBDs and CFDs], with more people prospering in informal types of jobs or source of income as employment either at the community-level in scope or some form of entrepreneurial endeavor channeled through social media without the need for e-commerce knowledge—albeit, being informal forms of employment, implying non-payment of taxes to contribute to government operations that drive country developments like building roads, airports, public parks, and environmental, humanitarian and some social welfare programs, etc. With this basic improvement down to the very communities despite lack of growth of morals, people in general had become happier and complaints against the government, whether legitimate claims or not, were no more near significant.
In fact—and where remaining backwards societal morals can be seen—only during each time nearing Presidential elections of 6 years in between does national division that entails an even higher level of essential anarchy gets as sky-high as in such periods are, i.e. due to being too personal and controversial matters.
Regardless of economic improvement in the country, the Philippines still remains with almost same type of moral standards at the civil-residential-level as before in traditional times, a little lesser with occurrence of public violence from those conventional street bullies (no matter the age) as a point of increase of slight/serious physical injuries lawsuits had peaked in public discourse so why they had refrained from violent types of intimidation and overt bullying in the streets and elsewhere for internalized fear of being sued for violent aggression crimes punishable with penal laws, but micro-aggressions on vulnerable people are still happening a lot.
With calling certain things into attention onto public discourse, whether for the better or worse, for law-and-order or anarchy, this is opposite but have comparable societal effect in what Alex Jones’ clownery stunts which has a lot of patrons and sympathizers had done. So bear in mind that contrary to what is primarily advised above, social media will still have a role in sending the right message to the public (especially with leverage of having face-value when most appropriate) as regards the direction that a public discourse will go and be shaped into, directly or indirectly, and in relation to introductory sections herein.
And that right message would be the opposite to what social media does. If social media has tendencies to cause anarchy, then address law-and-order social issues in it because that’s the reality in the US at the community-level (that is, crimes and crime-rate being high) and people aren’t being happy, and when people’s unhappiness aren’t resolved then they’re likely to blame someone or somebody about the insecurities they have at the community-level.
Aside from real policies that will lessen breach of law-and-order, to make Americans happier and thus complaining less about Democrats, applying this on social media too to address law-and-order problems in the US than primarily almost only for political fighting—especially when situations require much looking after one’s personal security—would make for a more reputable Democratic Party as these things that affect citizens in their very communities, neighborhood and personal life would make the most impact about a civilian’s views of a politician. Just be honest about it what’s really happening and be accountable to enact policies that change the situation.
Like how governance in the Philippines had recently been capitalized on reducing crime and it’s causes, thus businesses had prospered because of lower crime-rate that even ordinary people had been—mostly informally—self-employed in some enterprise (criminality had been kept away and covert forms of disorder remain in truth), the Democrats should address these issues on law-and-order and it’s causes as a priority. That will make more civilians happy as safety and security is a very important existential need that determines people’s sense of well-being among other factors; thus, with such perception of general safety, not only do business-owners become happy as their establishment are more secure but that those who have lesser in life than business-owners may start enterprises more safely even when lacking resources that big businesses have in assuring their property’s security. That would in theory be a movement to take away much of the economics from arrogant entrepreneurs and businesses that many ordinary civilians hate and to which great majority of the GOP fundamentally sides, with in truth their existentially anti-populist nature. And with more people civilians being happy overall, therefore less complaining against Democrats.
The US will do better how the Philippines has done such decree of weeding out the roots of crime as a national policy. You got that conventional, democracy-oriented American way of life to begin with, where one can be unique and different. That fundamental American nature, in theory, would be a lesser tendency from how economic improvement in the Philippines as a result of such national policy had instead been a covert vicious cycle instead, especially at the civil society-level where covert types of oppression, aggression and violence still occurs as opposed to being systems-level corrupt values in the state; the economy has grown but moral values in culture remain unimproved as people choose to be.
Addressing social and national issues of law-and-order then in parallel preparing practical policies that instills a culture of sound moral values alongside actually addressing such social concerns, vocally, sending the right message to the public will give more public validation of the Democratic Party’s legitimacy that right-wing politicians and right-leaning media has monumentally smeared in these years.
Democrats, include these in your checklist of long-term (coordinated) plans as a Party while you still have the resources and considerable number of seat in Congress.
